I always wondered how do they came up with the pattern for their spellcards. Granted, I haven't read grimoire of Marisa yet and I'm pretty sure I've only read about half of the official books but like architecture, I'm pretty sure they have to consider both practicality, function and aesthetic, and like many designing projects, they probably have crapload of rough sketches.

Though since the game are all in 2d plane... that raises more question on the patterns...
